  • Ibanez SR505, unboxing & test!

    Hello!
Here’s an unboxing and complete test of the 5 strings bass: Ibanez SR505.

    Is the QC correct?
Does it sound better than a Squier JazzBass?
    I think it’s better than the SR305.
But the narrow spacing between strings makes slapping much harder.

i had a 305 years ago and it was ok. good for the $$ but nothing special. the narrow spacing took some getting used to and eventually i got rid of it. the 505 is supposed to be a decent bass, ive put my hands on a few and they seemed solid

I have an early 2000s sr505. It's a great bass guitar and feels good in the hand. Yea, the spacing is thin.

I have an Ibanez 1985 RB885, the very first 5 string bass ibanez made. It's got 15mm spacing, much tighter. It's like playing a guitar.

I'm about to have a Bongo 5 string...that bass felt pretty tight too...

After all the 5 strings I've played, I like the tight spacing better than most of the giants neck basses.

      Congrats on a nice bass!

I have an ‘87 SR-885LE. Still my main bass. But I replaced the bridge with a Hipshot and made new pickups for it.
