Re: How Important Is The Wood In A Cab?

4 new speakers are not cheap.
    Sell your cab.
Put your money towards a second hand marshall 1960 cab. That way you'll get a nice heavy ply cab and 4 quality speakers for less than youd spend on just the 4 speakers. Most of em have g12t75s but a lot will have v30s. Either way, nice cabs.
If it has g12t75s, they pair up nice with v30s, so you could always sell a couple and replace em with v30s, or vice versa.

I don’t mind the G12T-75 speakers at all. They get the job done very well.
But as said already they pair well with a variety of other speakers.
I have 2 2x12 cabs that I pair a 12t with a Greenback variant and both of those cabs sound amazing.
The 12t carries more low end than a Greenie and the Greenie carries the upper mids better than the 12t. It’s a really good pairing.
