  • Is this diagram correct?

I saw this diagram for a Shadow Killpot to be wired as a volume pot and I was wondering if it was correct. Traditionally I see input on the left lug, output in the middle, and ground on the right.

Input on left and output in middle is dependent wiring. Input in middle and output on left is independent wiring. It really only makes a difference on a guitar with two volume pots.

Doesn't it draw out the taper to put the input on the middle and the output on the left? That's been my experience, but it's been a while since I've wired it the standard way.

I haven't noticed a change in taper due to how I wire a pot (that doesn't necessarily mean that there isn't a change...I just haven't noticed it), but I have certainly noticed differences in different brands of pots, all supposedly log tapers.
