slathering endless amounts of clear on it now trying to bury those silver flakes that are standing straight up. This is easy tho and the imperfect parts look better and better the more clear I layer on. I guess you really can polish a turd!

You can kind of see where I fudged up the burst around the bottom center of the V. That's going to be covered by the vibrola so no worries.

I am going to go for it with 3 pickups.

          Neck-SNS
          Middle-Phat Cat
          Bridge-SNS

My only issue now is how to wire it with 3 pots. If I can squeeze in another volume I'd be fine. Master tone and 3 volumes would give me all the choices I'd want. Just not sure I can squeeze one in there. Open to ideas there.

Be sure to sand between clear coats or it will take forever to cure and all the imperfections will start to dramatically show up as the inner layers cure.

ah yea thanks. I'm way past that. Just final sanding that is so scary and takes forever.

Still need to figure out the wiring for the middle pickup and give it a setup and take some better pics but for the most part I am done with all the big stuff. What a learning experience.

Well done, sir. Now post video of you laying down some golden vibes on the transformed V.... The former owner would love to hear it.

A learning experience is always a great thing.

                          Nice job.

                          Need some sound clips.

Now that I see this, I see that a burst doesn't work very well with the second-gen V style. You get a boxed in triangle of inner burst color down on the lower point. It works on Deans because they eliminated the guard.

Nonetheless, it's better than what it was, and looks fun to play. And I love witch hats.

yea it's a bit wonk in that corner w/ the guard.

but that horn is where I filled in the previous route for the custom jack that was on there so I'm kind of thankful that the guard extends and hides any potential witness lines. Nothing there yet but ya never know.

next issue is how to get the action lowered w/ the new vibrola on there which sits pretty high and my nut is low. will get there tho
