Re: True Bypass .... fact or fiction ?

I'm sure there is plenty of variation regarding how people use true bypass and buffered pedals. It's interesting and quite educational at a times to read about.

I don't get why people get so emotional about it?

Can save your backside if you have true bypass on stage. Example is when I stepped on a bod in my pedal board wrong and unplugged my wah during a song. If it had been a buffered pedal not true bypass my entire rig would have instantly died. However as long as the wah was in the bypass mode and not engaged I had signal so got through the song and fixed the issue. Had a couple of these happen over the years with true bypass effects.
That plus having a bunch of buffers running at the same time in your chain can cause some weird issues with noise and strange overtones. Both buffered and true bypass has advantages and disadvantages.

My neighbor had a triple bypass, his wife says she can't tell if he is on or off.

I truly bypass the fiction. It’s a fact.

I get buffered on fact before I bypass the fiction so that my truth stays the truth before it gets bypassed through all the nonsense.

Look at the pedalboards of many of the world's most famous guitarists and you'll usually find a healthy mix of TBP and Buffered pedals.

Famous guitarists use what works for them and don't get bogged down in the minutae like people on internet forums, they have better things to do, like making music. Jimi Hendrix would be mocked today for his signal chain.

Well. That could very be true depending of what you're referring true bypass for
