Dang. My gray matter just failed me as I was prepared to type.

Looks like that Fender Japanese Jazz series from the late 90s early 00s -I had one that looked almost identical to this.

No idea if this is actually the same thing though.

Are you thinking of the Aerodyne?

If so, it's not that. It has the same general color scheme as the U.S. versions, but lots of the other details are different.

Nah, not sure what the Aerodyne is or was -I had a late 90s Black Japanese Jazz that looked just like that.

Took me a while to find, but I believe it's a Fender Big Block P Bass

Yes, they do. Part of why I was saying that it was not one of them, if he was thinking it was.

                    Thanks!

What is the humbucker meant to sound like? Looks like a double-J pickup...

OH! I missed that post, and I missed the Tele-style control plate. Same pickup as the Dimension, you think?

"Fender pickup guru Michael Frank-Braun designed the humbucker in the Big Block to unleash thick, rich, powerful tone" ... doesn't mean it's not extremely similar to a dimension pickup though. I haven't heard side by side.
