I could never get over the V shaped pickups. I knew a guy years ago that had a later one with standard humbucker, and it was a awesome guitar

Me thinks it's real. I kind of like it...an upside down Explorer. The headstock could take awhile to get used to.

These things weighed about 15 pounds, too. Also, the reverse Explorer is, sadly, all too real.

The reverse Explorer could be "kind of all right" if it had a better headstock and guard.

That's why Gibson started offering these Holy or "weight relieved" models.

Yeah, that V is pretty sad, too. Some of these ideas had to be jokes that went too far. Almost any amateur guitar designer could have come up with better ideas than these.

Here's another oddity with the Gibson Modern V guitar. I think it was a rip-off of the Roswell by Jackson.

Most of those "jokes" were limited to production for one month and were mainly intended to appeal to collectors that didn't care for the norm and wanted something from left field.
You will never understand How it feels to live your life With no meaning or control And with nowhere left to go You are amazed that they exist And they burn so bright
