Anyone remember the Gibson Eye??? One part SG, one part Strat, one part WTF???

This beautiful example is #25 out 350 ever made, & I’m guessing about 150 that ever actually sold...

Believe it or not it’s a pretty fun guitar & it plays great! It sounds like a mix of a old SG & Explorer, but sits on you like a Stratocaster which makes it incredibly easy to play! Plus let’s face it, how many post 2005 Gibson’s do you see with a real Ebony board???

Yeah the Gibson Eye is a real oddball Gibson. At first sight it reminded me of some kind of fish. Looks cool.
And you even have a matching strap.

I think the Gibson Firebird X is a real oddity. You might as well glue a pedal board to a guitar. It is a nice guitar and all but you need a university degree to operate this beast. And why did they only go with 23 frets instead of the full 24? It was supposed to be a revolution in guitar playing but I say it's just an exercise in futility.

The Firebird X was a friggin abomination!!!

I’m all about originality but my god!!!🙈

Any guitar that requires a month long course to operate, & let’s face it looks like this, probably isn’t going to change much of anything other than making the world question your sanity...

                  RIP Henry J.

You should have just hung it up & retired with a little dignity at the end of the millennium...

It's a little known fact that the sole purpose of the Texas Annex in 1845 was so that USA shaped guitars would have better balance in the seated position. The Gadsen Purchase later was made so that guitar manufacturers would have a large enough flat surface on the side for an output jack.

That guitar is geographically incorrect. Don't people know that Wyoming doesn't exist? It is true because the TV said so.

The ES-Artist had the strange Moog electronics in them. Double pickguards like Steve Howe used in ASIA.
