IIRC, they were the "built overseas" versions.

Slightly smaller body than a standard strat or the older model series charvels. Still great guitars though. If the neck is good and the price is right I'd say get it. If you like super strats these are great guitars.
Insert witty signature here so people on the internet will think I'm cool....

Ridiculously wide range of models at that point, right?

The toothpaste logo Charvels were made in Japan, just like the earlier Model 1-6. The Charvettes were made in Korea; the necks are decent but bodies are plywood with lackluster hardware and electronics.

Boatload of different toothpaste logo models. They're generally decent but we'd need to know more to say if it's a good deal or not.

Which is why many people play electric guitars but very very few of them are actually musicians.

The Korean-made bodies are plywood, but the Model 1-4 bodies are basswood. I'm currently in the process of refinishing a Model 2, and it's definitely not ply.

Mine is Basswood (Chushin Gakki, Nagano, 1986)

Sorry I though you were referring basswood as plywood.

Really going to need a picture or description to determine the model. Toothpaste logo came in '91. I have a 375 Deluxe wich rips. Give some more detail and we can give some better information!

No, not by ESP. Japanese Kramers were made by ESP for a bit. These were made in the Chushin Gakki Factory up until '94 I believe, but I will have to double check that. Is this a pointy headstock?

Toothpaste logo is from about 1989-1992. They are great guitars, I’ve owned many. Most of the bolt on neck toothpaste logo charvels value $250 up to $500, maybe a little more depending on condition. The neck thru models will run a bit more, $500-$800, over a thousand if it’s a 750xl.

identify charvel model, charvel models, charvel serial numbers, charvel serial number lookup, charvel guitar models

Here’s a great link with pics and specs, to help narrow it down as to which model you’re looking at.

I love that they were called 'Fusion' but were anything but.
