Update at post #37.
For those who didn't see my post quite awhile ago, I snagged an SD Rickenbacker SRB-1b bass pickup awhile back for a steal. (Going out of business kinda thang.) I had no immediate need for it, but at $20, who could resist a new Duncan pup? I noticed that the coils and bars were identical to my Custom Shop El Diablo. The specs were 8.6k with an A5 mag. This could match nicely with the 22.1k/A2 Diablo. So I ordered both the fiberboard and metal baseplates from MojoTone. I decided I liked the metal baseplate better, for various reasons, but needed the fiberboard as a spacer so that the original mounting screws wouldn't damage the coils. So cut & Dremeled it down to size, and put it all together. It came out looking great. I did an extra wrap of cloth tape around it both for additional support and to mimick how a Duncan hb'er would look.
Can't wait to get this installed. Hopefully, it will be this afternoon. I think I'm going to install this set into my Schecter Blackjack. Stay tuna-ed.
