Was just playing my TS-7 that I got for $20 at a yard sale. Normal or Hot, I like it!

JHS Pedals makes a TS called the bonzai.

Basically, you can switch between all the different types of tube screamers. Kinda covers all your bases - it's all of them.

The East River Drive is cool, but I prefer the TC Electronic Mocambo as far as cheap 808 clones go. I've played them both side by side. Really similar, but the Mocambo has more output volume in case you need it.

Surprised nobody has mentioned the Way Huge Green Rhino. I have the MkIV version. It has a 100hz and 500hz controls to cut/boost bass and mids, but there's switch to turn those off and get your standard TS sound. It might have a little more gain too.

JHS is FAIL without enough tone knobs, hot switches etc.

    great idea....but not quite.

I’ve got to be realistic and say my Maxon does what I need, tempting as the thought of a new pedal is.

Just the single tone knob won't do. It is hard to move it to different guitars and amps that way as there isn't enough compensation.

For me, the single tone knob is part of the appeal. It limits how much time I can spend tweaking my tone. Itís nobodyís fault but mine that I need limitations like this.

    And yeah, out-effing-rageous price too.

If JHS knew exactly what everyone wanted from each that would be one thing. But they must have basically made a gain variation on 8 different screamers. One screamer with a super wide gain range works for that. Must be half a dozen or more pedals that do that and more, two from Ibanez!

I don't own the JHS pedal, nor do I have any first hand experience with it. But when demoed side by side with originals it doesn't sound like what you're describing from what I can hear:
