  • Boss SD-1 bass mod advice

I've once modded a DigiTech bad monkey and am again looking to mod a tubescreamer type pedal for bass. I want to use it as an always on mild grit effect. I'm still very much a beginner modder/solderer tho. There's this video by Wampler on modding it for bass. I won't make any drastic changes so as to reduce the difficulty and only use parts readily available from my local electronics store. I won't change any diodes.

Could you help me with the exact type of capacitor I need to get (I understand it's all film caps)? I also wanna change the LED to a blue one to indicate the mod if it's as simple as changing the LED on the Bad Monkey.

I'm especially interested in the R5 change for less clipping since I just need grit from the pedal. That's a resistor? 10k over 4.7k means less gain here? Is it Ohms? I googled resistors used in pedals and it's supposed to be carbon film.
