  • Concrete Candy - (Beer$ + cyberkitten collab)

My partner (cyberkitten on the forum) composed a song which I played the instruments for and helped a bit with arranging the parts. She wrote every part except for the solo which I improvised. I envy her writing skills sometimes. That opening riff is so cool I wish I had written it and so is that synth part!

It sounds so much better with real instruments. You did such a great job and it turned out awesomely, thank you so much! Any comments are welcome. ^_^

That was cool, great production as ever. I like how it's a cross between Lynch Mob and late 80s thrash.
Why don't you take your little Cobra Kais and get outta here?!

Kitten gets all the credit for that. She wrote it after all . I'll gladly accept the Lynch Mob comparison if you're talking about the solo. He's influenced my playing a fair amount, putting enough emotional bends and licks with the speed coming in 70% of the time and not 100%

I'm pretty jealous she wrote that riff. It's very hip!

Sounds really good. I liked the original a lot too though -- I wonder what it would sound like if you blended elements from both versions... is that possible? The rhythm guitars especially are nice and chunky, and would sound great with some of those synth layers from the other version.

It's the same synth part, I'll keep in mind to turn it up!

Oh wow -- yeah, I didn't even hear it on first listen. Maybe it just wasn't translating through the speakers I was listening on.

That was nice. I wouldn’t pin it to any era or influence. Just really good heavy music.

I thought so too. I think it's because she's got the ear and the creativity but with little experience in the rock music scene, therefore completely unrestricted by the "rules" the rest of us might be bound by, maybe even subconsciously. Figuring out how to play the intro makes me wonder how long it would take me to come up with something like that.

New and improved mix with louder synth
