  • 70s / 80s Marshall cab for mark v 25

Hey i'm thinking of getting a mark v 25/35 and want to get a kind of 2203/4 ish sounding cabinet perhaps with g12-65 heritage or old t75 speakers, what modern or old marshall cab should i consider? These speakers i suspect react well with the v like they do with the 2203, but with a mark you can dial in the bright cap tone with the treble knob a bit easier than with a 2203/4, plus easier heavy tones, and the v 25 can saturate a bit easier than the v 90

Also do g12-65s work ok in a recto cab?
    Thanks

    G12M 25 watt 1x12 Greenback/Blackback/Creamback is all that needed.

No need for a 65 watt speaker with a 25 watt amp.

Thing about the Mark V:25 is it doesn't have a 16 ohm output, does it?

Have a 16 ohm ET 10 in my Subway Rocket and run a 16 Ohm WGS Retro 30 in my Blackstar cab under my DC 5 head at times also. Ran the 16 Ohm in the Rocket for 2 reasons. First I play in situations where I need the best low volume tones I can get and the 16 ohms on the 8 ohm jack gives me just a little bit of a power soak and lets me crack the volume just a little bit more and drive the amp just a little harder to get it closer to it's sweet spot. Secondly all my 1/12 cabs are set up as 16 ohms so if I run a splitter where the output of the amp is running in parallel and run both the internal 10 and one of my 1/12 16 Ohm cabs I have a 8 ohm overall load. My 2/12 cab is set up for 8 ohms all my 1/12's 16. A 16 ohm load is no danger on a 8 ohm rated amp it just lowers the amps power a little with the extra resistance lowering current. A lower than rated ohm load is what will do damage by allowing more current flow and resulting heat not the other way around!
