I meant output jack, I replaced it with an Switch craft. It was crackling a little. Auto correct struck again

I just came back from NAMM and was *hugely* impressed by Epiphone's SG selection for 2020. It's one of the biggest step-ups I've ever seen in a guitar line.

They got rid of the cheesy old headstock, at least for a line called "Inspired by Gibson". The SGs in that line looked really close to Gibsons in specs and some even had locking tuners. I played a few, and while of course they were cherry-picked for NAMM, they all felt great and in no way seemed lacking compared to Gibsons.

I'm not sure about lower end guitars, but it seems Epiphone is making a serious play in the higher-end imports category. I would certainly give 2020 Epiphone SGs a serious look.

I felt the same way about Floyd's sometime ago

I've got one now for about 6 years now

            It's a RG4 ibanez
It hangs on the wall right behind me
I bet it's in time right now
And last night I noticed the high E sting is broken at the tuner

I dont think I ever play it

It's way heavier than my other guitars
            Plays like my other RG2

Just I don't play anything that requires the whammy

Go for it. The white with the full guard RAWKS.
And they’ve already done the upgrades for you.

i keep thinking over and over what do what my new guitar to do that I can't do on the tele?

warmer neck pickup tones for jazz

hotter bridge tone and less twangy overall sound for metal

my brother (who doesn't play but likes a lot of the same music and sorta knows my taste in guitars and stuff) told me I should get a guitar that's a little more metal if I want a new guitar at all, he says my guitars already are fine for like blues and blues rock and country and jazz. Get something that lets you play differently. He asked me what kinda guitars are good for metal, what makes a good metal guitar and what kind of metal do I want to play. and then he asked me isn't it kinda time you specialize in one genre of music? Most artists you hear sort of have their genre or a couple genres they fuse, and they have "their sound". He asked me what "my sound" is gonna be.

I don't even know lololol I like a bit of a lot of stuff!

How's the finish on that? It seems to have a coat of laquer. The reason I ask is that I once had a faded/worn finished one and it did not have any laquer on it.

                        Why an Epiphone ??

Only a real Gibson G is good enough.

cuz I don't make enough money to afford a white one with a full sized guard which are rare and a bit more expensive.

                            I kept thinking to myself
                            Self
                            What tone do want most!?

Les Paul.... But the SG looks so good and is more comfortable...

So I bought a Les Paul even though I kinda don't like the weight and that big neck heel. I got a Les Paul tribute with the 490 set in honey burst...

Just kidding I'm still on the fence. My gut says go with what my ears say and get the Les Paul but my eyes and my wallet say for that price I could get the epi SG,a case, pickups, and have a little left over.

The new modern Epiphone LP is chambered

The new Muse Epiphone LP has tummy cuts and a thinner body

You can get the lighter comfort with the LP

I did chambered with F holes on mine
                              Much lighter with neck dive

My Dean Shire is an LP shape but is the traditional laminated body like a 335
                              With F holes

It is super heavy at 9.2 Pounds
Easily my heaviest guitar that ain't a bass

Screw it. Plenty of time in life for both.
But I'm freaking in love with the looks and I know I will find plenty of use for it and it's the least expensive of all guitars I'm thinking I'd ever want
If it sucks I can exchange or return so....SG it is
