you know, the more I play the more tone specific I've become. I'll hear a specific tone and I'll go.......thats it, I've been wanting that.....and I'll buy the item no matter what brand it is.

the only brand that i kinda love is hamer usa, which of course is no more. every one ive owned and played has been a good, very well built guitar. still own three and love em.

duncan would be a favorite brand too, and dr for strings, a dunlop picks, analogman pedals...

              Re: Favorite Brands

I have lots of brands, but I could narrow it down. I primarily play Fender guitars (Telecaster, Jazzmaster, and Mustang), Mesa amps (MkV, Electra Dyne). Pedals I dont think I could cut down to one or even two brands, maybe MXR, EHX and Strymon, but I like small brand fuzz pedals too much.
Strings are Ernie Ball, and picks Dunlop Ultex .73mm, pickups are either Stock, Duncan, or Creamery.

                Gibson, Marshall

But brand alone doesn’t cut it. I’ve got Gibson’s that almost deserve the fireplace and some fenders that you can’t pry out of my hands.

                  Re: Favorite Brands

The only brand I am 100% dedicated to is Seymour Duncan.

But I'm also pretty into Fender guitars, they are definitely "my guitars" but I'm not not really a huge fan of their brand image or decisions lately , like the stupid elite guitars and how they're trying sooo hard to appeal to hipsters. But they just do make a nice feeling guitar and for whatever reason when I pick it up it just feels right. So I guess Duncan and Fender.

I am also a "fan" of Gibson guitars , but again I don't necessarily think they're a great company, they make a lot of really really stupid products and decisions, and so many are ridiculiusly over priced. but the ones I have owned in my life have been guitars that are so good, so enjoyable to own and play that I'll never forget them.

                    Re: Favorite Brands

                    My collection consists of:

                    4 ibanez
                    1 carvin
                    1 yamaha
                    2 warmoth
                    2 esp/ltd

If I had to pick one?

Ibanez. They just work for me. My as73 is a primary, and my rg921 is the best rg I have played.

                    Yamaha. Need I say more?

I'll cast a vote for warmoth as well, even though I should throw some credit to my setup guy as well as myself for choosing the specs and assembling.

                          Guitars: Kramer
                          Pick-ups: Seymour Duncan
                          Strings: Fender
                          Bridges: Floyd Rose
Amps: Marshall (Soldano if I could ever get one)
Effects: TC Electronic? Line 6? Whoever makes a modern high-end multi-fx is good enough for me.

Not quite one-item-one-brand, but close enough.

I’m a sucker for Fender and Seymour Duncan. Also Wampler, Keeley, Strymon and Voodoo Lab. Lately I’ve been into Victory Amps.

I have no brand loyalty, I will go with whatever suits my needs or sounds/feels good to play. That being said, I've consistently used the same string brand (GHS) for the past 10 years at least. I've only ever broken one in that entire time, and they come in gauges that work for what I play. I will also patently stay away from anything labeled Fender (though I have unwittingly actually bought at least two products that are technically Fender's, both of which I'm very happy with).
