Default Mesa boogie 50 caliber plus for sale

Mesa boogie 50 caliber plus for sale. Asking $555 shipped. (The cheapest one on reverb is over 700 plus shipping)

Consider trades.... Maybe a guitar or guns.

Catch and release, got this in trade. Had a few scratchy pots and old tubes.
I cleaned and deoxit the pots and installed good sovtek 12ax7 tubes. Sounds amazingly better! No more scratchy pots, and it really sings!

Some advice retube the amp with some really good tubes before you abandon it. I listened to your clips and heard it immediately she needs tubes badly. Owned a 50 cal plus at one time and it was one WICKED MOFO!! Reason I sold mine and then bought a DC 5 was I needed more control of both channels in particular with those having only one pre gain and main eq for both channels. Drop in a good set of 6L6's and something like a set of the 4004 short plate Mullards with a JJ in V1 and V2 in that amp and then thank me later.
Don't have many clips with my 50 cal plus this is one that does show how it sat in a mix. Running lower gain and have the amp eqed to cut in the mix here. Trust me mine was absolutely BRUTAL as a metal monster if I wanted it to be!! Mine sounded MUCH different from what I heard in your clips!!

Buy this one and put new tubes in it ha ha.

I don't have any power tubes lying around, I'm sure that would help as well.
It's a very metal amp indeed, if I was to tinker with it, I'd end up loving it and I don't need 4 amps....

    Whats your address buddy?

If I didn't own 2 Boogies now I would as that is a great price on that amp. Just didn't want you to make a mistake here as that .50 plus tubed right is a flat out metal monster!! I only sold mine to buy the Dual caliber DC 5 50 watt head I have so I already have those tones covered.

Well heck...now I'm shopping for new tubes!

I wanted to unload something, not sink more money into something ha ha ha.... Maybe this weekend I'll tweak it a little bit and see what she can really do.

Is the .50 Caliber a 50 watt amp?

Yes it is, 50w. Runs 2 6L6 power tubes.
Four 12x7 pre tubes and one 12at7 tube. (For the supreme cleans I think)

Ascension, You got me all jacked up now ha ha!
I slapped some other tubes in it tonight, messed with some EQ settings. This thing rips! No joke! Y'all are right about this amp. Just needs some new valves.
It needs to sell before my next paycheck or I'm buying all new glass and calling this my 3rd amp!

Phone sample: Gibson faded V drop D, Duncan Black Winter, ehx ERD boost, and no noise gate.

Something odd - I see a lead master knob, but no lead gain...
Is the amount of drive preset for the lead channel?

Gain is the first knob. Twist it for gain and pull it for lead, it pops out.

Independent volume for master and lead are 2nd and 3rd knobs.

These can be great little amps with good tubes and some tweaking. I've never played two that sounded exactly alike. The place Division used to rehearse had three of these between the rooms, and they're solid, hard to kill, sound good and are loud as hell.

That's a good price, too. Hmm....

Maybe a 6505 or 6505+ head or anything in the 5150 line.

Yep and that + having more eq control was the ONLY reason I sold mine and bought a Dual Caliber DC 5. Told you that thing was a MONSTER!!

I can't believe that this hasn't sold yet. Or that you haven't just decided to keep it.
