  • how to make a galaxy pickup cover?

How do I create a burnt chrome pickup with a cover from a SD cover? I know that Bare Knuckle Pickups makes a galaxy looking one and that's exactly what I'm looking for. I am going to put this on an Epiphone silver burst LP.

As in these? This is a process called anodization where you use certain chemicals and electricity

and the process. Keep in mind only certain metals this will work with.

The anodized colors are really striking, and from the photo it seems as if those can be produced in identical pairs.

Classic burnt chrome covers are just that: toasted with a blowtorch. Every one different.

Some of the BKP patterned covers are neat. I have a set in camo; actually a cooler look in person than in pics.

There are also places that will etch your custom image into a pickup cover.

That is cadmium plating - not anodizing.

Actually, bareknuckle's covers are burnt chrome and its exactly that. Burn it with a torch.
