  • Mini Toggle Switch - Question.

    Good evening

I have a Tradition Guitars SP-1, which has 3 SPDT Mini Switches, for splitting the single coil sized humbuckers, but one switch is broken...
I need a new one to replace it, but I'm not sure about those switches...

The broken switch has 3-pins and acts as ON/OFF.
I've been looking at a similar switch, but it says ON/ON?

What am I supposed to look for?
    Thanks!

ON/OFF and ON/ON are the same thing. You just don't wire up one lug for it to be ON/OFF. Mind you, bonafide 2-lug ON/OFF switches, (SPST), are available, but most guitar parts places will have the SPDT.

      Thanks, @ArtieToo
I get it now, that's excellent!
I will have a look for those, and get that one replaced!

      All the best.

You're welcome. But I should clarify something: An On/On and an On/Off are not exactly the same thing. But an On/On (SPDT) can take the place of an On/Off (SPST) just by leaving one lug unconnected. Just wanted to make that clear.

          Thanks! That makes perfectly sense!
          I'll continue the search!

GuitarElectronics, in Arizona, has a nice selection. I buy from them all the time.
