    Re: JB vs Super Distortion

In the correct guitar, either can be great.

I have an SD in a 1990 RG550. A JB in a Jackson Archtop SL2. Both sound great after playing each.

      Re: JB vs Super Distortion

I've had a CustomCustom, Super Distortion, JB and Hot Rails in my Strat over the years.

The CC felt perfect for 70s rock and blues. The Super D could do 70s and 80s tones. JB is very 80s / 90s, and the Hot Rails sounds like it was designed for grunge and metal.

I'm using the JB now because that Strat is basically my 80s / 90s punk guitar now, but if I wanted a more versatile or flexible Strat I'd probably go back to the Super Distortion.
