  • CS'69/Five-Two/Twangbanger

I have a Strat which I bought cheap, but always hated the pickups and the HSS configuration it had (it has Tex-Mex single coils and a Diamondback humbucker). I mainly play bluesy rock, venturing sometimes into Pink Floyd territory and just need to swap these pickups out.

I have a CS'69 laying around and intended to make a configuration as follows:

    - Neck: CS'69
    - Middle: SD Five-Two
    - Bridge: SD Twangbanger (which I can get for free)

Has anyone tried this and what are the impressions? I heard the Twangbanger when it was in my friend's Strat and it sounded great, I have CS'69 in another Strat in the neck position and love it, so was just thinking how the Five-Two would fit in the middle position, as I can't seem to find much info on it?

I play mainly into tube amps, mainly my Twin Reverb UL, or JCM800 half stack.

i think that would be a cool setup. the 5/2 is a cool pup and should sound good in the middle with the 69 and tb
