  • H2O Chorus fading in/out

My beloved H2O chorus pedal has decided for no reason to start fading in and out. The level just goes up and down at random, on chorus or delay. WTF?!?!?!?

This is a carpeted living room sort of pedal. Never gigged or abused. Someone tell me something good!!!!!

    Shot of contact cleaner?
Try a battery instead of 9v adapter?
    Jiggle the output connectors?

When I shake / move the unit sound pops in-out occasionally....

Already checked cables with other pedals and tried other cables. This is in the loop of my Tubemeister - which I love with this pedal!!!

Definitely try with a battery, Ace - my OCD started doing similar and it turned out to be power jack mechanical failure.

Go back to using the Chorus Factory.

The shake it and it goes in and out part sounds like a loose solder connection somewhere. If you don't have the skills to look at it yourself, I would probably contact Truetone, they seem to really care about customers and the quality of their pedals. It doesn't sound like it's super serious, but it also isn't going to go away on it's own.

I'm gonna poke on the jacks briefly. I agree. Fiddling with the cable seemed to make a difference.

Chorus Factory + Boost DLA is a solution....

But I really like the H2O. Plus, it's blue, like the H&K lights...

Use a metal stick and make sure it's plugged in, might want to poke the stick int he outlet first to make sure you have power.

By poke I mean remove the jack and slightly adjust the connections, with a low watt iron if needed.

I’ve had two overdrives do that, both times it was the stomp switch. Is it the standard style metal stomp switch?
                    Oh no.....

Truetone will fix that for ya. Contact them before poking around anywhere.

Formerly know as Visual Sound. Great company. I've met R.G. Keen (designer) and Bob a couple times. Very pleasant and they take a lot of pride in what they do.

How many “boutique” pedal companies were launched off the back of R.G. Keen’s circuit diagrams he posted online in the late 90’s/early 2000’s?
