  • NGD - Epi G-400 Deluxe

I picked one of these up the other day in a trade. I traded a Jet City 20 head and my old 4x12 cab loaded with Celestion G12M-70s. I hadn't used either one in over a year, as I am a certified Orange fan boy these days.

It plays nicely and has a great, chunky neck. This is a stock photo, but mine is the same.

With most SGs being black, red, or brown, it's pretty refreshing.

            Nice!

Just wondering, if Deluxe in the Gibson range means minihums, what does it mean in the Epiphone range?

Usually fancier tops and finishes, stuff like that.

I got this photo from a Google search for Bill The Cat and started using it.

                Definitely one funky looking critter.

I picked up a pair of Gibson Burstbucker Pros for $125 the other day, and plan on installing them in this guitar as soon as i get some screws and springs. Lots of people complain that they have to much high end, but I'd rather have highs I can tame than to not have enough. The pickups in it now are going into my other Epi SG. Pretty stoked to say the least.

It sounds even better into it. This is the best amp I've ever owned, hands down.

The pickup swap is done. I have just finished wiring pickups into my first two guitars, and it went fairly smoothly for a first-timer! This guitar got a pair of Burstbucker PROs

and the pickups from this went into my first year (1989) G-400.

Happy to report that both guitars now sound better, and I have a new skill.
