Default Buzzing in a new amp

Picture it ó a brand new Blackstar Fly 3 with an extension cabinet. The power supply is being run off a power inverter that doesnít produce a pure sine wave. The amp buzzes loudly at higher volumes or with distortion. It gets better when you touch the bridge on the guitar.

Itís the power inverter, isnít it?

If you have access to another inverter, give it a try. Im probably wrong on this but sounds like a ground issue if you touch the bridge and the buzz stops

New information: Plugging a phone into the 1/8” line input also yields a buzzing.

I'd have to put this on the power inverter. Is there any way to test another one?

There’s no other power inverter available right now, but we’ve talked about getting six “AA” batteries to see what happens when the power inverter is removed from the situation. If it’s quiet, he’ll probably buy a small pure sine wave inverter just to run this amp.

That seems like an easy way to test it.

He was able to try batteries today. No hum, no buzz. Next stop, a new power inverter.
