  • Hum from VOX AC10C1 - Tried the usual stuff already

    Hello all,

I have been searching for a little while on this with no avail. I'm getting a low hum from my guitar amp without anything plugged in so it must be the amp itself. I read that you can use a ground lift adapter plug to test if it's a ground loop issue before buying something like the HUM X. So, I used a ground lift plug to see if that would get rid of it and the hum was still there. Is there something in the amp itself that can cause this or is this just the "nature of the beast"? I have replaced the tubes and speakers. I'm using an Eminence Cannabis REX rated at 16ohms and replaced the tubes with matched JJ EL84's and Tung-Sol 12AX7's. Any help would be great! I have attached an MP3 for a sound example. The actual sound is not that loud, I cranked up the gain on the audio interface to make it easy to hear.

    Thanks!
