  • Dunlop Crybaby GCB-95 REV. G / Pedal Build

Early 90s Crybaby recently lost wah and now only functions as a volume pedal; know of course it’s either the inductor or the 47u cap. Pedal was/is first in front of a Fulltone OCD (and others); Strat into Twin. Now when the pedal is fully open/depressed, it is giving me the absolutely sickest, slightly-mid-cut heavily boosted signal...really Holy Grail kind of thick, Hendrix vibe.

That said, I want to accomplish a couple of things; 1) pull the tan board (94 vintage) and drop in a Red Fasel replacement board, & 2) take the old board and slap it in a new box chassis and somehow create/use the same effect I’m getting with the “bad” pedal now. Any thoughts on this process? Additionally, WHY from a technical standpoint getting this particular effect/signal?

Any suggestions or info would be GREATLY appreciated
