  • How do Lamb of God sound lower tuned than they are?

    As the title says,

I thought about them tuning down to C or B,
but I looked it up and they mostly tune to Drop D oder D Standard, but their songs always sound very sludgy and low tuned, while e.g. Slipknot tunes very low with a similar grooving "heaviness" to it.

How do they achieve this effect?

Years of owning a Gibson Guitar made me more of a luthier than a guitarist

One way to go is use an octaver that do sub.
But if you figure out key they play in, you could tell if B or C or actually played higher like F or G with octaver.

EHX POG2 is excellent and also track polyphonic. It does 4 octaves(+/- 2) and just add amount of each with a fader.
And a bunch of other stuff too like envelopes.

I always wondering how Leslie West got the powerful sound of his until I saw a vid where he explained his rig with octaver as well.
