  • Mooer SD30. The Best beginner / practie amp out there?

    Just found out about these.

    https://www.thomann.de/fi/mooer_sd_3...ling_combo.htm

30w amp with 25 models, loads of effects, 40 presets, AUX, looper, tuner and metronome / drum machine, effects loop.

For 299 € that's about everything beginner needs aside guitar. Mooer really gets it when they design a product for specific purpose.

+ It comes with Mooers digital preamp models, that are some of the best you can get under pro level category.

      Peavey VIP/Vyper series
      dozens of models and effects
I always measure the modeling by how the Fender Twin Model sounds
the Twin is the one I am most familiar with,
and the VIP/Vyper series does that great

I use the Twin on my Roland Cube quite a bit for clean blues/jazz styling.

My experience with "modeling" digital amps, that got a 1000 different tones-

Is that none of the tones- or even the base amplification- sounds decent at all.

          Your experience may vary.

My problem with digital modelers is not the sound but rather that I end up using a few sounds. Coz I just don't have time for all these tweaking orgies.

If those few sounds sound good, I say that it's worth it.

At least without spending a mint.

I got a modeling pedal some years ago
And the sounds may not be great
                  And some may seem cliche
If you couldnt find a good sound on that thing
                  You were doing it wrong

                    Wait, huh?

Or did you mean the best, non-pro level?

                      That's what I'm thinking.

I like the one that does the clean JC-120 sound.

I'm not saying no-one should use it. I still have my Line6 POD HD 500 and like it. I also liked the old red bean (maybe even more).

Yes, I did meant for a price range less than pro level modeling.

I'm really not a fan of modeling technology either, but for simple plug and play practice amp that's really the best way to go tone wise. Any analog alternatives have been somewhat lousy I've tried.
