  • Which one to choose and why?

    Guys,

I've decided to buy a decent Super Strat type of guitar because of comfort reasons; my main axes are all pointy but traveling with them makes things difficult (they take up too much space due to cumbersome cases). The criteria is: 24 frets, 2 humbuckers, floating tremolo, and any color as long as it's black (kidding, white, natural and purple are also options); I'm not picky if it's bolt-on or neck-thru. Inverted headstock is a plus.

I've been considering these options, and I'd like to know if any of you have tried one of these:
    • Second hand Ibanez RG Prestige.
    • Second hand Jackson Stars Soloist.
    • New BC Rich Shredzilla.
    • Any other suggestion you can make; I'm all ears.

I don't have the possibility to try any of those in person, since I live outside the US. If I'm going to buy anything it's almost impossible to return it if I don't like it, and that's why your input is so valuable to me.

    Thanks!

Well, that was another option I've been considering. I've heard great comments about those guitars.

The ESP or LTD M-series are also worth a look, and many of them have a reverse headstock.

Which is why many people play electric guitars but very very few of them are actually musicians.

Great idea, and I've looked at some very nice options. That makes the decision process even more difficult, too many nice choices!!

I remember playing Schecters many years ago and didn't like their necks; too bulky. But I cannot deny that their current offerings are tempting: stainless steel frets, USA-made pickups, glow-in-the-dark side dots, quality hardware...

I have a used Ibby prestige although mine is an HSH setup.
Very nice guitar and quite possibly one of the most comfortable necks I’ve ever played.

I really like the necks on Charvels. Maybe check out their 2 humbucker 24 fret pro mods.

That's why I've been considering Ibanez Prestige so seriously; this particular model looks like the ideal one:

No matter what you get, remember: A good set up by a pro should be considered. Pickups are easily replaceable.
