  • Possibly Looking For Luthier

What's goin' on? It has been years since I posted here as I've been navigating some murky waters.

If anybody remembers me around here, I am a huge fan of Warmoth guitars. I have quite a few of them. I recently contacted them about ordering three more Regals, but I am not sure if they are going to be able to accommodate my request.

Last I heard, they are waiting for the shop to let the sales rep know if they can do it. That was almost 2 weeks ago
I realize we are living in different times, so I am going to wait patiently. However, considering my request has to do with swamp ash, time is of the essence.

So, if there are any luthiers out there who are willing to have a conversation with me about what I want, maybe I will decide to play something other than a Warmoth for the first time in 13 years...

Like a lot of companies on the West Coast, they were shut down for over 2 months, and I am sure they have a huge back order list to fill. I bet they will get back to you soon.

      What exactly are you wanting?

And why is swamp ash so "time is of the essence"?

I believe he refers to the info someone shared on here too ( the thread title was "Kiss your ash goodbye" or sg to that effect) that some restriction is going to be put on the trade/use of that wood.

Edit: tried to search the forum for the thread, but the function is still not working for me.

Ah OK then, nevermind. Should've kept silent.

I want 3 different carved top LP style guitars made from swamp ash. I want all 3 bodies to be chambered. I want a transparent blue finish on two of them and a transparent red finish on one of them.

I want a roasted maple neck with Duncan 78s in one of the blue ones, I want whole lotta humbuckers with an Indian rosewood or bocote neck on one of them and I am undecided on the neck wood for the red one. I do think I will go with a Jazz/JB combo in the red one though.

Stainless steel frets, raw necks, 24 2/4" scale, 59 roundback neck profile, push/push volume pots for single coil options, shielding if necessary, no-load neck tone pots.

I think that is most of what I want. Black hardware. I am probably forgetting something.

I just want to make sure I lock down 3 to 5 swamp ash carved top LP style guitars that I have been wanting to piece together for a few years. I saw the recent news about swamp ash, and I felt the time to take action on a few of the guitars I want has come to pass.

I'm guessing you meant to post this in my "Hiwatt" thread.
