Re: Welp, not impressed with rat clone

My pedal sounds worse than that vid Ace
I should have tried the black secret to begin with, pretty sure mine is not the same though it looks very similar
Maybe this Eno company made a crappy batch

The Mister Vermin I picked up for $70 should be pretty good though. Regular size enclosure

Maybe I'll switch my tuner out for mini tuner and that'll free up a little room

I'll get a bigger board at some point but TBH haven't had this one more than a year or so but I'm already figuring out that you want more than a few sounds, with some fancy switching and iso power... You gonna need some pedals and space for them

I say get a Rat 2. If that is too big, try to find a Harmon 308 (?) or try an Ibanez Fat Cat.
I’m surprised you don’t have an Ibanez LA Metal!
      Oh no.....

      Oh Yeah!

          Why do you hate fuzz?

You need to add a proper germanium fuzz face, a real big muff, a coloursound powerboost (tru-fi colourboosteri is a good sub), and a treble booster at least.

I don't hate Fuzz, or Overdrive. I just like Distortion.

Mosky Black Rat is the way to go, well made with the LM308 chip and they're only like less than 30 bucks but mine took 3 weeks in shipping from Asia.

Did you replace the bad resistor too so that it sounds like a rat?

Let's see this board. We'll help you decide what really needs to go.

                    Then get this:

Re: Welp, not impressed with rat clone

I kicked the delay pedal in the fx loop off the board, not using it so much with these tones I'm going for in this setup
I will post a pic of what's left when I get home, long job at work

But FYI it's the on stage gpb2000 board, I think it's like 18 inches wide and like 5.5" or 6" tall

                      Board has
                      Planet waves pedal tuner
                      Boss blues driver
(Insert rat I will soon receive here)
                      Green Russian muff
Loop switcher (one control White Loop)

The loop switcher is great, one switch is bypass, other switch toggles the red and green loop. Red loop has the tuner and the bd-2 and rat, green loop switches to the big muff. So I can go from one of 2 different flavors of hairy cleans and crunch, to the big muff, with one switch

That's before I kicked out the delay the blue ocean off, was going to anyways, little crowded, little messy

As for changing a resistor no need. The pedal sounds fine.

It can be a bit noisy tho.

It's just that the guy in the video you linked had modded his mooer by swapping that resistor, which he said has a big impact on the tone control. He also said the mooer didn't sound like a rat until he did the mod.
