  • Fender Meteora - Who's Played One?

I'm really diggin' the Meteora, but haven't seen one in person.

They came out as a limited edition USA-made model in 2018 with a Tele style bridge and pickups, but are now offered as a standard production model with other configurations like dual humbuckers.

    Has anyone tried one? Thoughts?

Like you, I haven't seen one in the flesh as of yet. I think they look pretty cool, but they need to lose the pickguard.

I really like the body shape. Like an alternate take on a jazzmaster. Two humbuckers though. Ugh. Gross.

I hadn't seen this one. I like it better than the Tele-bridge model. Is that a normal scale or short? I like the design better than other Fender offsets, actually.

Looks like a guitar that would have been played on The Jetsons.

Don't they have a pretty cool wiring scheme on them too? Like two volumes, one tone and some sort of push/pulls?

Too much pickguard. If I had to redesign it I would have the controls on a Jazz Bass style chrome plate.

                  Just rear route the controls.

I really like the limited edition one with the Tele setup

I'm also a huge fan of the equally huge pickguard. It's a dramatic statement that really adds to the "swoopiness" of the guitar's appearance

^^^ And now it looks like something from Japan in the 60's. ^^^

I actually really like this . I usually find most offset guitars pretty damn ugly to be honest. but this one I dig. Not sure why it has chrome tuners and black everything else - but it'd look great in all black or all chrome with a white pickguard. I love that switch placement and the tunomatic bridge. I'm gonna need to grab one of these some day

The body shape is reminiscent of Tiesco.

I think that's what is so cool about it...totally a '60s/'70s throwback in styling but somehow very "Fender" at the same time
