  • Pickup meter reading different after soldering.

A pickup that read 16.33k before soldering now reads 15.45 after soldering. Is this normal?
The cables were a bit too short, so I had to splice extra bits of cable in order to use the pickup. Could that be the reason?

Every pickup meters different after soldering in. Its the pot that give a parallel path to ground and lower the DCR. With higher pots less than with lower resistance on the pots.
