  • SRV strat identification

    I’m still looking around the internet for some info, but, does anyone know the specifics on the strat Stevie is holding here? Pickups, model, etc.

    no idea. srv had a '65 or so red strat with rw board but ive only seen it with a white guard.

      Nope. Looks good for a photo shoot though. That was probably its appeal since he didn't seem to ever play that guitar onstage.

                  You don't see any pole pieces in either picture. Did he have a strat with EMG's or Bartolini's? He did have a red strat with a white pickguard and a left hand neck.

                    I know he had the Hamiltone with EMG’s. They got damaged so he swapped them for regular Fender singles. I THINK he was trying some Evans around this time. Maybe this was the guitar they were in?
