Not Biff’s voice...that’s me. Glad you are digging it. Until this record, Get Lost was my favorite. Check out the remaster of Plastic Surgery too...it finally stands up Sonically to Get Lost now.

Thanks for all the kind comments. We’re probably ruining this thread now though. Hit me up via PM or FB messenger. These folks don’t need this kind of interruption! Haha.

Yeah, you're right. Sorry about that! I am still lovin the new Epiphone Les Paul too though, so might as well get this thread back on topic. I have to admit, at least from the photos, the fretboard looks very similar to rosewood, so that is pretty cool.

The color scheme of the guitar grows on me every time I see it again too. It kind of lingers until it becomes a classic. It almost screams 70s rocker to me, but it could just as easily feel right at home in a 50s setting. Should look great with leather or pleather.

When it comes to fretboards that don’t have finish on them (ebony, rosewood, etc), the darker the better as far as I’m concerned. Get yourself some F-One oil. Hit me up via PM if you do and are unsure how to use it. It made a clear difference on mine.

Love that color. Sweet axe. Now, I'll have to go out and see if I can round up some of your music. Enjoy.

Nice new headstock design, Epiphone. Now the A, B, and Es will be just as out of tune as the G and D!

Rainsong...I’m having zero problems with getting in tune or staying in tune with this guitar.

Why would you make such a ridiculous statement? The mustache design at the top of the headstock has nothing to do with staying in tune. A straight string angle (like Fender's 6 in-line) is certainly better than a 3x3 (like this or Gibson's), but your statement doesn't reference that.

The new headstock is more than just a difference at the end. This new one is wider and the tuners are further apart. No change to the overall headstock angle though.

But again...no tuning issues for me at all.

Re: NGD - Epiphone Les Paul Special 2020

I decided to buy some normal size LP Special buttons for these locking tuners. They don't make ones that will fit the Revolution tuners in white so I went with nickel ones. I'm happy with it and think it looks much more proper overall. This guitar is such a keeper that I sprung for an Epi branded case, too.

Mine arrived from my tech last saturday, the SD Vintage P90 tops the stock P90 PROs by far. The tuners are kind of meh, but I also can't find an upgrade with the white buttons...

The stock ones on mine after getting them the proper height sound so good to me. What's different about the SD ones? I see they're both Alnico 5 with braided wire. I'm all about making this guitar all it can be, so if the difference is really that stark, I may spring for the change myself.

I thought the stock tuners were great, it's just that locking tuners are a must have for me, which is why I went the Kluson Revolution route...glad I did. What do you think you're gonna end up doing about yours?

I'm not super familiar with European retailers, but these are excellent tuners that should look correct.

I have a locking set with keystone buttons on my SG w/ Bigsby and they've been rock solid.

Which is why many people play electric guitars but very very few of them are actually musicians.

Looks great, man. I've been super impressed with most of the Laurel boards I've seen; I vastly prefer their look to the pau ferro stuff you tend to see in the step-up price range.
