                    Re: Cyber Jam Anyone?

Thanks Xerxes... I'm no shredder and will never be. If people think my playing is cool and it makes them want to pick up their guitar and play, I'm in heaven! I'm an intuitive and feeling player as much as possible.

Stevo encourage me to talk about my setting, since he tought my C5 was cutting well without being over the top. I agree that it sounds good, although I still prefer the Custom (SH-5) for lead work.

I use a Peavey Bandit II (the newer amp). I'd prefer a tube amp, although for home/practice settings, I doubt it makes any difference given the quality of SS amp these days.

I use a Boss SD-1 to boost my gain channel a bit (the Bandit have 3 gain options, Vintage, Scooped and Modern - I use Vintage @ 6 for lead work - @ 5 for rhythm). I use the SD-1 sparsely, level at 12 o'clock, gain barely on (maybe 8 o'clock) and Tone at 11 o'clock.

I get out of the Preamp Out at the back of the amp, straight into a Behringer Ultra-G Direct box (which has a 4X12 cab simulator), right into my sound card (crapo SB Live!) and I record using Cool Edit Pro 2.

I thought of going back to the DiMarzio Super Distortion, but I now think of sticking to the Custom, or maybe try something else in Seymour's catalog.

                      Re: Cyber Jam Anyone?

Steveo, you've got mail! My solo is 3rd take, with one take for the doubling. Different feel than the other solos. Hope you like it!

Thanks for providing the rocking backing track! Totally different from what my track would be

... man, that was a lot of F-U-N!!
