Re: FORUM JAM - Surf is up!

OK sorry if I was a little to vague about how I want the track.

I want it in MP3 format preferably 192k or higher. Musicmatch works great for converting wav>mp3 and mp3>wav.

What'll probably work best is if you send me a low res mp3 maybe 64kps with the whole thing you've done over the backing track and then send me just your part with no backing at the higher res and I can drop it on to the backing track and mix it so that it is some what uniform.

*****You can send the whole part you've done with backing track at the better res, that seems to be working out best so far. It is easier to bland parts together than sync them it seems.*****

    Send your MP3 track to

    [email protected]

And make sure you include your SD Nickname just incase I am not sure who you are by your email.

****I added a WAV download to the initial post

When I have done these in the past, it was a little confusing for me to queue some of the solos in the right place. I suggest sending 2 mp3s, one with the solo and backing, one with just the solo.

The solo with the backing track will help Wattage to know your exact beginning point Then he can insert the solo alone, in to the song.

well i recorded mine just as if it was by itself, so i dont kno how you would be able to fit it into the jam anyways...... i used the entire 1:40 that i solo'd over......ahhh.... so if you cant fit it into the jam thats ok, i wont feel too bad about it.....its just that i feel good about the take i made so id like to let everybody hear it in some way or another, whether its seprately after the whole jam is put out or whether its fitted into the jam somehow

Count me in, and it's true you can't listen to too many kinds of music. If you think surf music is weird enough that it's hard to solo to, you'll die when you play cross-key jazz. BTW I'll need some kind of confirmation that you got my file mkay wattage?

I am gone until late tonight I'll try and tab it out in the AM. Didn't receive anything if you sent it out already.

Thanks so much for doing this Wattage!

If I'm not too late, and there's still room for it, I've just e mailed you a one take thing I bashed out. If it's too long or there are no spots to fill anymore then no probs, I'll jump on the next one in time

Wattage, who's playing on that backing? I totally dig the rhythm guitar sound!

                              Me Thanks!!!

There are 2 guitars; one channel is my new Melody Maker, can't tell you how much I love that guitar, the other side is my lefty Strat, both are running into a Boss Amp Factory (Tweed setting - tweaked a bit different for each) right into my SB Audigy card in the PC. I use Guitar Tracks Pro 2.0 and I used the software parametric EQ to tighten it up a bit, low pass filter setting.
