    The Swing EZ-10

This I think is THE cheapest guitar they have under the Swing moniker instead of the Smash one (think Fender vs Squier) although I really can't understand why:

5-piece Mahogany neck-thu (with Hard Maple stripes) with Mahogany wings and an Ebony top.
That's right, the fretboard is Rosewood but the guitar's top is Ebony. And if you think that's one funky wood combination (as did I) wait until you play it. Just WOW!
Acoustically this thing RULES, AMAZING definition too, I got to play some passages that are next to impossible to not mush out with unusual ease.

If so then what's making me crazy you ask?
Well, the pickups are crap (the bridge for sure, I could kinda live with the neck but not for too long), and the Floyd copy is also, well, cheap (as in cheap in price AND in feel). Works OK though (well, never went out of tune in the hours I was there playing it while they were working on my Strat...

The guy said that the Gotoh Floyd is a direct replacement as long as I don't use the back-cover (that's easy, I never do) ans we all here know how easy it is to change pus (and in the process, maybe the electronics too).
But then, after all this is said and done I calculate I'll have invested in the cheapest guitar of a relatively unknown Korean company MORE than its' original worth (about 300-400€ when it only costs 300 right now although he told me the new batches will go for 450...)

And you know what, I STILL can't take it out of my head...
So, what do you guys think?

So it sounds good and plays good and you like it.

    Don't quite see the problem.

Get some $250 guitar with an original Floyd Rose and sell it for $200 with the POS Floyd. Get a couple used Seymour buckers. This guitar probably looks good with nickel covers.

OH man, this is Greece, you have NO idea how hard it is to sell a guitar, let alone for that price...

I mean, I've been trying to sell my Cort which I bought USED for 500 for 300 (now going for 250) and still no dice...

And generally, unless it is from someone you know it's rather hard to find used pickups (unless they're the JB and 59/Jazz )

If you like the sound of it - don't think about the resale value, just buy the guitar. Not all guitars are created equal, so make sure it sings and if it does, you'd be silly to pass it up.

          I played this one before:

I had no idea who Swing guitars were, and still don't actually. This is the only other time I've heard someone mention them. I remember that guitar being pretty nice though it didn't stand out too much to me at the time.

Re: Am I crazy for seriously GASing for this one?

yeah but i mean you gotta understand you're paying for almost as much glue as you are wood

i mean i agree that's cool make cheap guitars sound workable, maybe even sweet, but this is a lot of parts that eventually it just seems like you'll want something better

i mean even if you love it you'll probably have to refret it in like less than a year, and then the rosewood's gonna be gettin rough, and that kinda thing

Re: Am I crazy for seriously GASing for this one?

Well, that's the gist of all the reasons I'm still thinking about it instead of just putting the cash on the register...
(Except the Rosewood part, that I did not get. Remember, the top you see is Ebony, Rosewood is just the fingerboard).

But yeah, after playing it just for some minutes I had bonded with the neck, the fretboard, the frets, the freekin' string spacing (wider than a fender, shorter than an Ibanez, just the way I like it) and I were enjoying it for hours.

Thing is however that currently I'm saving for a 1500€ Carvin DC127T (notice the T = Wilkinson VS100).
Still, this could EASILY fill the spot as my first (and maybe one) Floyded guitar...

D@mn, if only I could get rid of the Cort, then I'd easily use the money to get it and slowly upgrade it after the Carvin...

I don't have an ebay account and honestly, I really can't see how one would want to buy this from another country, especially since right now the euro to USD ratio is entirely against my favor to sell sth

BTW, the major reason why this is cheap is that it's essentially unpainted. It'll pick up nicks easily but sound-wise and playing-wise I don't see reason for concern.

Yeah, you're probably right about this, it felt as if it was just tung-oiled and out the door, which is also one of the reasons I love it, resonates from here to tomorrow plus I like that woody feel

I swear, if I can get to sell the Cort it's so gonna be mine (well, I'm gonna need a 2nd guitar and right now the Cort is no.2 )
