  • Dug out my very old DiMarzio hummer.

    Once upon a time I bought a doublecream DP100
Well they are as usual a ***** to take apart, but into atoms it went
Took out the offensive ceramic magnet, and stuck in an old A5 from a 85 JB, and made it with air as well..lol put it in like on a SD hummer.
Then I took out one side of the allenscrews and stuck in six slugs.
Stuck it in my HW-1 strat with its now two APS-1's from 88.
    Will record later
It sounds surprisingly well for POS pickup

I LOVE the last sentence: "It sound surprisingly well for POS pickup"

Yeah it will stay as it is now, it is actually something of a nice thing with the A5 magnet plus the extra air.
But it will not stay in that guitar I think.
I'll have to try it on my Wolfgang and the Kramer, it has a sound of its own.
