1 pickup guitar suggestions?

Looking for 1 humbucker that is versatile in a 1 humbucker trem guitar. Looking for spanky..ballsy..sizzles in high end but not ice pik like or muddy with flabby bass...so tight bass response is good...non sterile but can scream when needed as well as do a sweet coil tap and possibly a series/parallel thing as well...

was looking into dimarzio dual sound...bluesbucker..d sonic.. paf joe...super 2.... or gibson 500t in bridge...or tesla opus 1...or duncan screamin demon..custom 5...or trembucker...

any other ideas? thanx..

i play more just breaking up tones like the stones/ac-dc/ vanhalen fair warning/..tom petty... up to some heavy rock but no metal or poison type stuff....

Play a night train and egnator tweaker 40...

So looking for a versatile pickup with ability to tap/series parallel...that has balls when needed and cleans up well with good treble not mushy honk. thanx

Custom 5, ordered from the Custom Shop with coil taps to take it down into "vintage" humbucking territory when wanted. I mean actual coil tapping, not coil splitting (which many people erroneously call coil tapping).

What guitar? I would something along the lines of a WLH. But it's hard without knowing the host guitar.

guitar is an older jackson dinky style..with 1 humbucker and babitz trem..rosewood neck...not sure what the wood is is its white now...its very light weight...what is WLH?( WOMENS LIBERATION MOVEMENT?) i think i mean coil split so it can also get a single coil type tone without much dropout( i know some humbuckers really stink at coil splitting.)

On an ash/maple Stratocaster, the Allan Holdsworth model - if you can find one - through A500k pots. If you cannot find one, the SH-4 JB with an Alnico 2 magnet is place of the stock A5.

There are probably 2 dozen pickups from various manufacturers that could possibly fill your order. Doubt very much you would need custom shop coil taps or mag swaps or any other crud to do it either. The only thing I will say is becareful trying to pick something to be uber versatile one killer sound is better than 5 or 6 eh whatever sounds.

that PATB pickup that can be a humbucker, single or p90?

i have a screaming demon in my single humbucker. i don't split it but it sounds good.

P-rails with triple shot. Versatility on a one pickup guitar, there is no better choice for that

If not that, I would say a simple PAF type pickup would do that well. Honestly, I would lean towards lower output myself. Outside of Seymour Duncan, I'd look at a TV Jones powertron.

I've got two single pickup guitars, one with a PAF Pro, one with a EMG 85. The Dimarzio one is awesome for classic rock through 80's style pop metal (Van Halen, Crüe, etc) to AIC type tones based on the amp. The EMG does what an EMG does... I keep it in Drop C for chuggy metal, but it'll do classic rock with the right amp also.

I'd put a '78 or WLH in that thing and freaking rock it like that, but that's me.

A C/59 would work nicely in that, and it mag swops well for fine tuning.
