1 Spin-a-split pot for 2 humbuckers?

Hi, I hoping somebody can answer this.

I was thinking of turning the tone pot on my Ibanez S470 into a spin-a-split pot since I never use it. My Question is would I be able to wire both the bridge and neck pickups to it so it acts as a master spin-a-split for both pickups?

Want to be able to split them both so that I have a Strat esque sound (got a RW/RP single coil in the middle) and then turn it up to go back to my usual full bore 'bucker tone.

You should be able to do it, but You would have to replace the old pot withe the double shaft pot. Something like this:

Thank you.
Out of curiosity do you know how it would sound if it was wired with the current pot?

Personally I've never done the spin-a-split mod, so I don't know how it would sound.

The dual pot should be used to avoid electrical problems, BUT I'm not 100% sure. Maybe more experienced user will make things clear.

If you use the stock pot, or any normal, single-gang pot, you'll end up wiring both pickups together all the time, despite the position of the pickup selector. With the stock pot, you can spin-a-split the bridge or the neck, but not both.

To do both, you need a dual-gang pot on a single shaft. Or, just replace the pot with a small DPST or DPDT toggle switch.

Cool, Thank you for your help! Maybe Ill just split the neck pickup for a faux HSS set up.
