It sounds good, Nathan. Much of the solo drifts into and out of mystery key signatures, so in a sense it very much like melodic jazz rock (AKA "Meljar") to me.

I mean intentional in the sense if Jimi did a ballad. I think my Ibanez (which was the rhythm guitar in this) was out of tune slightly. but I also used a heavily modded Squier for the lead tones which I borrowed.

This is a kind way of saying that you do not know scales and modes.

I rather like the Free Jazz of Ornette Coleman, the "outside"-ness of Allan Holdsworth and the "skronk" of the late, great Sonny Sharrock. All three make some, ahem, challenging note choices but they also know the right moment to deploy those notes to best effect.

Some of the forum bros have the recognised educational training to explain very precisely why some "outside" notes are valid and others will come across as cock ups.
