10 things I like about the Strat

1. They balance nicely. ex) not neck heavy

2. They sound clean as water

3. On distortion, they can get "pUnKY"

4. They look GREAT

5. They are cool to mod

6. It looks great with a great paint job.

7. It looks great even when its beat to hell.

8. You can have lots of different pup configurations. (like sss, hsh, h, HH, hss)

9. They are not heavy

10. It was my first electric guitar!

10 things I hate about Strats....

1. Bolt on necks aren't as resonant.

2. Trems lose sustain.

3. Difficult to keep in tune.



okay, I've only got 3 negatives, so I'll add to your postivie list...

11. Single coil notch QuaCK!!!!

12. You can use them to place under your tire for traction in icy conditions.

13. Headstocks don't snap off easily unlike some other brands.

14. You can set them on fire and they still play.

15. Maple Necks are beautiful.

16. Parts are totally interchangeable. (when buying a used Strat, that becomes a liability)

Great Post. Here's my 10.
More strats have been sold than any other solid body guitar.

The best players in guitar history have made it their number one.

They are appropriate for every style of music, and every style of music has been played by a strat.

They've come in every color imagineable.

They've kept with the same basic design since they their introduction.

The only guitar to come in over 100 variations.

It is the most durable gigging guitar.

Strats are one of the few products that can appreciate in value
at over 1000%

It was the first 3 pickup guitar in production? Not sure, but probable.

They've become a timeless symbol of the last century's
Rock'N'Roll era.

17. Any idiot can put a strat together in less than a day

18. You can play them left (Jimi) or right handed

19. You can make a genuine '54 strat and sell it for big bucks on e-bay!!

20. You can pick one up for less than $20 (used)

21 Tony Blair (PM for Britain) has one!!

22 You can bend them in half & pack them in an overnight case

23 They can cover your (small) vitals if you like playing with nothing on!!

24 They are now made over the world - Japan MIJ. Korea MIK, China MIC, India MII, Mexico MIM, US MIUS - Russia and Europe is next
