I assume these all work in a Fender Champ V1 and reduce gain.

Don't use a 12AT7 in gain positions, it is a driver tube. Instead use a 5751, which has a gain of 70, the AT7 is 60 so 5751 is close and better for V1.
The gain of a 12AY7 isn't 70, as shown in the previous post, it's 40, a lot less.
