12ax7 EH vs EH Gold

Aside from the gold pins on these tubes, are there any differences which make the GOLD a better tube?

Can find any info that details the differences - just give thes same blurb about connectivity, gold etc.

From what I've heard, ZERO difference in the tube. The gold contacts are just less prone to oxidation.

NOT worth the money, in my opinion. Spend the extra $$ on a good NOS tube instead.

+1 on that. Your routine maintenance on a tube amp should include pulling the tubes and spraying the contacts with some cleaner and putting them back in

Cool - I did think that would be the case.

I currently use EHs - just wanted to know what the benefits of the gold version, if at all.

Thanks for reponses. I do ensure contacts are clean.

With regard to NOS tubes. I cant afford them. But I love EH 12ax7 and will stick with em (not GOLD).
