whats up with the extra preamp socket?
where does the rectifier tube go, didnt see a socket for it

the extra 9pin socket is for the rectifier. a good clue is it by the power transformer and AC in. currently, the amp does not require a tube rectifier, but one could modify the amp to use one. 3 wires need to be changed is all.

yes, it can use a 6ca4/ez81. but you will need to unsolder and solder a few wires.

the 6ca4 i have is bad, so, it has low noise diodes installed.
