I'm selling my Vintage 1966 Gibson Saturn 50w tube amp. It is in perfect working condition with original footswitch! It is GREAT condtion for being 45 YRS OLD!!!

Please see all pics here... http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/Gibson Saturn/?start=all

I bought this from the original owner a few months ago, i just dont play it that much. It has 2 6L6 power tubes and a bunch of preamp tubes as well, which i have no idea what thay do...lol. MONSTER DRIPPY REVERB!!!! Tremolo too!!!!

It weighs about 75lbs, so shipping will not be cheap, prob around $80.

I put a new set of tubes in it recently and also have the vintage RCA tubes that will be included in the sale. (probaly worth $400 alone!!!)

I'm asking $400 + shipping and PP fees

Re: 1966 Gibson Saturn Combo

I simply took them out and put new tubes in to see how it effected the overall sound....not because of any problems. Both sets are included.

Right on. Did it do much? I spent some $$ on old RCAs and Sylvanias and the only amp they really affected was my Metaltronix, which is an old school design. The Cobra didn't care; the Bugera didn't care...

Good luck with the sale.

^ the ATL representin!:headbang:.

I had one of those exact same style old Gibson RVT amps with a 1x10. First amp I did a complete recap on. Thsoe old paper caps are definitely something that need replacing!c watch out for the cheapo chipboard particlebaord cabinets..they tend to fall apart and they are a royal PITA once they strat doing so..
They dont sound very good at all, but there are some guys that come up with mods for them that make them sound good.
The speakers are nothing much. lots of interest on those old Gibsons now as opposed to the past.

REALY??? :banghead::wrf::rocket::argh::smack::cussing::bsflag::lame:

you really feel the need to downplay my amp when you know absoloutyl nothing about it, how it sounds??? OMG...thanks!

Re: 1966 Gibson Saturn Combo

Well he's probably right about the caps. The Ceramic resistors are not original either, which means it's been repaired at some stage.:cool2:

Re: 1966 Gibson Saturn Combo

Not at all dude. take a step back..your too per$onally wrapped up in this. I always felt that IF Ebay allowed q&A's on thier auctions like this it would be a huge bonus. Its one of the best things about the Duncan Trading post that has come to be IMO- that its come to have a certain give and take 'elasticity 'with input and feedback( for better or worse) to some for sale posts. Thats a dynamic Ive come to really dig about this, and for soem reason you want to leave it static to suit your purpose..well, sorry,I'd hate to see it come to that, but f it does, then so be it-whatever.
Methinks theres a reason for your defensiive posture .. yeah, I know plenty about your RVT amp..I now exactly how it sounds, especially with those highly vaunted and esteemed generic Gibson speakers!! really man- take a frakin look at that rats nest of a PTP board- what the hell is that??- ever see a Fender PTP blackface board by any chance? Know wonder they named it the Saturn, cause it sure aint something like a Fender B;ackface made on EARTH.

The amps worth 400.00/I never said it wasnt.said it wasnt. Wahts with the "downplay" I was just commenting on it. Legitimate and studied wel founded points that rally wouldnt "downplay" the amp, except from your POV . You can't handle the truth.

My bad then...sorry

SOLD!
