Anyone have one?? Did they have fat necks then too?? Ive also liked them for some reason. Well, not always... Back then I didnt like the stubby lower horn.. But now I think they were cool looking. appear to be arched top, slant single coil and longer top horn. I like his current sig model too, but not the fat neck.. They did a LP shaped thing for him a couple years back that IMO was hideous...

here is the 1990

Always wanted one. I played one at the old Thoroughbred store in Tampa back when I was in college. It was very nice guitar. If I remember correctly they had more of a standard Jackson neck at the time. Wish I'd money for one back then.

Original regular Soloist-style neck (with the "flat spot" running along the neck) on the 1990 originals. Not sure on the reissues with the oiled neck, though.

I've owned 2 of the original 1990 Pro models, and they're great guitars. Yes, the top is arched, but so is the back. They were extremely expensive to mass produce, and they had to drop them due to not making any sort of profit from them. These were made from 1990 to 1994. The "~100 made" statement is commonly accepted, since they took so long to make, so maybe 25 a year. They can mostly be found in Pearl White, with the Silver Sparkle, Ferarri Red, and Yellow being the rarest.

With time and patience, you can set them up for absolutely ridiculously-low action, and as long as you use a Jazz III and have a light pick attack and fret softly, you can blaze across the board like a grease fire in a single-wide house trailer.

However, that price is way high for "fair" condition IMO. Granted there aren't many on the open market right now to use for bargaining power, but shop around and wait for either one in much better condition at that price, or one for a lower price in similar (or better) condition. They're not for everyone, certainly, mainly due to the "It's a sig model, so you can't play it without someone expecting a cover song", so they do pop up.

Everytime I see Phil Collen, his tone sucks IMO. I'm certainly not blaming it on his Jackson. I even like Jackson more than Ibanez, but I'll take that Pyromania triple cream Ibanez Destroyer. It's one of the identifiable 80's guitars I'd love to have.

Not a huge fan of Def Leppard myself.

They came out in the late 80s. I played one in a store and wish I'd have nabbed it. I was concerned about it being neck-thru. I'd take that version to the ones they will make now, as it seems anything with his name on it has to have a sustainer. But... I seem to remember the neck being more like a typical Jackson neck of the time.

Yes, that Jackson Supreme was "unique".
