I just have to many guitars and I need to sell a couple. I rescued this one from a Pawn Shop several months ago and had planned to get back into shape and sell it whan I bought it. It turned out so well I really have thought about keeping it but with 8 of the USA Chicago Custom shop Washburns in the house it just doesn't make sense.
In 1993 Grover Jackson who was trunning Washburns USA operations lured Steve Stephens from Hamer as an endorsee. There were three models the USA custom SS-100 and SS-80 and the high end import SS-40. These were only built the one year and are quite rare guitars.
This is one of the first editions with the natural headstock and script logo. the later ones had a black headstock and the "monster" logo.
She is stone stock and in really nice shape. The pickups are the factory Eliminators which are surprisingly nice and the trem is the 600S licensed Floyd which feels solid and stays in tune quite well. The neck is a meaty D profile with big jumbo frets and a flat board. It feels quite Strat like and is a super fast player. The neck is straight there is allmost no fret wear the action is low and the guitar is set up and intonated with 9-42's.
Ships in a older but usable TKO case and will be well packed and insured.
$450 in the lower 48 shipped.
