2 alnico pro 2s? (n&b)

hi! i'm new, and eor doesn't know anything. :)

eor poked around a bunch through all the sound clips and decided that he liked the alnico pro 2 the best. at both positions.

is it somehow wrong or illegal or something to have two in there? is this common? can someone recommend something to complement them at each position? i'm looking for a good clean sound primarily, because i'll just distort the hell out if it, anyway.

love,
eor

also, are these things hard to put in yourself? the shop i called wants $50 to do it. is that reasonable?

Having the same p'up in both positions is pretty common, I believe.

My favorite guitar, right now, has a pair of 59's in it. I think Robert S. is a fan of matched pairs also.

The Alnico II Pro comes in neck/bridge configurations, so it should work great. ;)

Hey eor, welcome to the board.

Nothing at all wrong with 2 of a kind, Slash had 2 Alnico II pros and he seemed to do fine.

As for putting them in with yourself, it's really not that hard, and the materials you'll need will cost you less than $20. If you start another thread asking for soldering tips for beginners, you'll get a whole lot of help, I know that's how I learned to solder, and I have sucessfully replaced every electronic component in both of my guitars besides the switch in my SG.
